Structure and Purpose = Happy Me

When I woke up this morning I felt tired and my back was still a little stiff and sore from my gym session.  All I wanted to do was stay in bed and avoid life for a little longer.  I was enticed out of bed with a cup of coffee at Vida, which didn’t have the desired response, that of feeling awake and ready for the day.

When we got home, Duncan and Grace headed off to swimming lessons and I considered climbing back into bed, but instead decided to tackle some of the tasks on “My To Do List.”  I have been putting off making some telephone calls and decided that today was the day to make them, so within the space of an hour phoned various people including claims handlers at the RAF (Road Accident Fund), Pilates instructors, clients etc.  And the more I did and ticked off, the more I was inspired to do. By the time Grace and Duncan returned I felt full of energy, light and happy.

I have proven to myself time and time again that having structure and purpose in my day makes me a happy, more likable person (to myself, my family and probably the people around me) who feels that they can achieve all things – it’s just a pity that I don’t seem to maintain that structure and purpose on a daily basis because I believe with that I could achieve great things.
