You woke me up!

Grace knew that Gogo and Gramps were arriving today, so once I was done with work the question on her lips was, “When Gogo and Gramps going to get here?” Slowly time went by, we had window vigils and excitement every time there was a knock on the door (Thursdays are Ethical Co-op collection days), but eventually, after dodging barbed wire, burning tyres and trucks on the N2 (okay, that’s an over dramatisation) Gogo and Gramps arrived…..to be greeted by a bouncing three year old…..who pretty much only stopped bouncing once she was in bed.

When Donné’s mom was here she was also super excited to see Granny and it is lovely to see her enjoying her grandparents so much.  Gogo was requested to brush teeth, bath and read stories tonight, and I know that first thing tomorrow morning Gogo and Gramps are going to have a visitor.

I felt quite bad tonight. Grace has been calling and not going to sleep, and we were all chatting in the lounge. I was demonstrating Grace’s “South America” song and Grace cried out for me. When I went she says (with a teary voice), “Stop singing daddy….you woke me up!” Shame, it was late and she was tired and I clearly disturbed her just as she was falling asleep. Either that or she *really* hates my singing.
