The calming effect

It is probably more often that our children work us up rather than calm us down (or at least that is what we remember), but today I got to be calmed by my daughter.

I was edgy/grumpy through the morning and went to clear my brain at gym over lunch, unfortunately to no avail. Grumpy/edgy afternoon, and then the time for me to stop and be with my family.

And so I got to spend some time just playing with my little girl. Chasing her down the passage, picking her up and flying with her, throwing her up in the air and bouncing her around, all typically followed by, "Again." The time with her really calmed me. Not just an external calm, but a deep internal sense of peace after a whole day of grouchiness.

Thank you my little girl, I love you lots.
