Swimming

Eli continued his swimming classes this term after a break last term and he is doing very well in the water. He is really relaxed and very easy to work with – the instructor likes to use him as her model. He is rolling over nicely and floating on his back quite nicely. Today I was letting him float on his back without any support and he handled it really well. He really seems to enjoy the classes, especially the part when he gets to sit on the step and play (which mostly means unpacking the instructors toy basket).

Eli is doing excellently, but it is Grace who is really shining at the moment. She turned some sort of corner and her swimming has taken off. She has developed a nice strong kick which scoots her through the water, and her arms are starting to work well now, making circles to pull her through the water. She is swimming further and further independently. The thing she needs to work on now is actually taking a breath every now and again (it is coming along).

Grace is just absolutely loving her swimming class. If she doesn’t feel well over the weekend, then all we need to say is that she can’t go to swimming if she is not well, and POOF….she is miraculously healed.
