Cake!
Grace baked a cake for Gogo and Gramps this morning. Donné printed out a recipe for her, and she got on with it with minimal assistance from us.
Gogo and Gramps are here for a whistlestop tour to get visas. Gogo didn’t realise her fingers would still remember how to play the music.

Teeth brushing
Adam has been enjoying finding a toothbrush (sometimes his) and having a go at brushing. He is also in love with flip to lids, which his toothpaste happens to have.
That’s all good and well, until you actually try to brush his teeth, at which point it becomes a fight with an unhappy octopus.
His current teeth count is 9. Top four incisors, bottom four incisors (two are half way out), and one mostly out premolar, and what feels like another one on the way.
Safely home
Get your headphones on peeps, it’s time for the drive home!
Tractor time at our pitstop. Adam did really well, and we managed to make the trip with a single stop, and minimal crying along the way.
We discovered some good coffee in Riversdal…
And now we’re home safely after a lovely break, one which gave us some time to recover and where we were really well looked after – a wonderful blessing from my folks.
Beach yoga
Time for some digging in the sand while the others go off to swim
Beach yoga
Adam’s guard dogs, which he likes to walk up to, look at closely and then loudly exclaim, “Gog!”
The rain dance
Grace and Eli’s rain dance seemed to work, with lots of wonderful raining this evening…we have these two and their crazy dance to thank….
Imaginary play
With Eli there is always some sort of game going on that he wants you to take part in. Today we were policemen catching baddies, then going home to sleep after dropping the baddies off at the jail, and most of this takes place on the couches (some of which conveniently convert into beds for sleep time). This kind of play time seems to be his quality time, what he really wants to do with us (and other people).
Addy joined in for a short while towards the end
Abundance and love
The last day of the year was a family day celebrating Uncle Nico’s 74th birthday and spending some time with the Clemence family.
This past year has been an interesting one, with lots of opportunities for growth. May the year ahead be filled with abundance and love, and a strong commitment to building the habits that will take us to becoming the people we want to be.
Donné made a chocolate and coffee birthday cake which went down really well.
This is what Addy gets up to in the morning when his parents are trying to get some more sleep time…
Eli said he was really excited to “poop scoop” in Jbay, and his wish has certainly come true.
Summer days and surprise naps
It was a stunning day today and the water is really quite warm, so we got to spend lots of time playing in the breakers, which all of the children are enjoying.
Ads likes to really dig in to get the full beach sand experience.
Watching the crowds
Grace and Eli stayed up late to go and see the stars. I remember the clear nights and brilliant view of the Milky Way from our visits here as a child and wanted to share the experience with them. We had fun, but it just wasn’t dark enough to see the stars clearly. This morning after our beach trip Grace says she wants to nap, and nap she did! For Miss Grace, this is highly unusual behaviour, and she even said she enjoyed it and wanted to nap again another day. Clearly the beach fun is taking it out of her.
