Eli’s calamity weekend
It all started when I arrived back from a mountain bike ride to find Donné in tears – she had to deal with Eli discovering how a cable tie works and that pulling harder doesn’t help to get it off. The tricky bit was that he decided his wrist was a good place for this experiment. A tight cable tie on a wrist attached to a hand that is gradually going purple presents some challenges, especially given that it is very tricky to get something in there to cut it off. Donné managed to get it off with some nail scissors, so all was well in the end (barring Donne’s frayed nerves).
We spent some time at Vergelegen and while we were there Eli bashed the back of his foot, where he already had a blister that was healing, which resulted in blood gushing all over the back of his foot and an impromptu bandage made from paper towels.
After arriving back home from Vergelegen Eli was riding his bike around the pool and somehow rode into one of the outside table chairs and bashed his lip. He then had a nice fat lip to go with his damaged foot.
And after all of that, some photos of our Sunday afternoon trip to Vergelegen.
