When Donné arrived at school today Nolene (Eli’s teacher) said, “Tell mommy about the terrible thing that happened today.” It turns out that he bit Grace while she was trying to get him out of a hole that he didn’t want to climb out of. Donné was talking to him about it and he says, “I can bite my sister.” Hmmmm…no not quite….and certainly not a privilege she would like.
Amazing grace
Grace has been enjoying singing and is learning to hold a tune slowly. Today she sings, “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wrench like me!” I guess that means we’re going to have to work on vocabulary and tool names.

We had lots of fun at Izzy’s rainbow party today. I asked Grace what her favourite part was and she says, “Jumping on the jumping castle…..because you were jumping with me.” A reminder that in everything, it is time and personal effort that really matter to our children.

The ballet concert is coming….
September is ballet concert month, with plenty of rehearsals and the show starting on 24 September and running through to 3 October. Here is what the month looked like when we planned it all out….
Fortunately there were some question marks in the rehearsal schedule which have been resolved and it isn’t quite as intense as it was looking. Now they are practising away, and things seem to be going well, and we’re just making sure Grace gets lots of down time through it all. I’m interested to see how she handles the actual performances.
Grace is in every show as a panda, and in two of the shows as a Rio bird.
