We celebrated Donné’s birthday today, enjoying a calm day and time with good friends.
Big birthday hugs for the birthday girl
Birthday cake was an experimental meringue layer cake, with chocolate cake between layers of meringue, with plenty of cream
We finally took our children to a show! There is always something on at the Playhouse Theatre in Somerset West, and we went and enjoyed The Red Riding Hood. The show was good fun and perfect for them (and just the right length).

Grace wanted a photo with Red
This is how baking happens: Eli chopping chocolate, Adam having a snack and Grace mixing and following the recipe.
Two cute guys
Little blue eyes, and check that tufty hair! He definitely has a slight wave to his hair, unlike Grace and Eli.
Busy paper mache-ing to make her volcano from the experiment kit
Today Eli helped us to free up some hands, and figured out how to swing on his own
He also gave Grace an assist this morning
Whenever we get back home, the children always enjoy exploring our home again, and this time Adam, with his extra mobility, is zooting around and checking everything (and every step) out. Grace and Eli always enjoy having their own space in the playroom, and going through the things they haven’t seen for a while.
Sandpit fun
Longing for his time on the trampoline
We departed this morning on our way home with everyone wanting just a bit more holiday – it’s been good, and Gogo and Gramps have looked after us very well (for which we’re very grateful)
Enjoying a chocolate croissant at Old Nick on the way back
Cuddles with Robyn – Grace and Eli got to spend a day playing Cluedo with Rob & Chloe and enjoying some time with their cousins.
The dog’s spot….right under the baby’s seat, where food falls from the sky
Adam’s holiday work has been learning to stand. He has pretty much been focused on trying to pull himself up so that he can get to whatever happens to be on the table. He’s not quite there yet, but showed good signs of figuring out how to get his foot under himself….soon he’ll just need to give a good push and he’ll be up.
