Day 2 of camp was a rough one for Grace, at least the first part of it. She is sick, dropped a couple of hours sleep last, and was up at 5h30 this morning, so there was lots of moaning, and "I too tired to walk!" Luckily she was happy whenever she saw Hannah.
My favourite comment from the morning about Grace's tiredness was when Karen asked, "Grace, are you busy sleepwalking?"
Fortunately she chirped up in the afternoon and even went for her first supertube ride, which she enjoyed other than the splash at the end.
At one point the four girls were playing musical chairs, but each had allocated a chair to themselves. Emma's older sister was directing and she took Grace's pink chair out, but placed it close behind her. When it was time to sit each ran to their chair, with Grace hurrying to hers to the cheers of the mommy crowd. Maybe a different game for now.
It's school camp this weekend and Grace's excitement has finally been fulfilled – now she can play to her hearts content with all of her friends.
The last time Hannah visited she wanted her to stay over, and now that we're on camp she wanted Hannah to sleep in our chalet. Eventually it was decided that she could sleep in Hannah's room – her first sleep over.
Except sleep didn't actually seem to be on her mind at all, and she had still not settled at 21h30…it's just too exciting when your friend is in the bed right next to you. So we had to abort, and will see how tired the noodle is tomorrow.
Grace has always been sensitive to stimulation, in particular auditory stimulation. Just like her mama, too much noise bugs her and can distress her at times – hence we bought her the ear defenders. There are certain things which she does love though, like vestibular stimulation. She loves being rolled on the duvet, swung around and hung upside down. Touch wise she is probably more cautionary, but not overly sensitive.
Eli is just a few days past five months, which means it was time for the fifth birthday party of his life – Andre & Tyler's – which resulted in this awesome slip-n-slide moment.
