A different view on the aquarium clown fish makes them look entirely different.
The photo was taken from the floor looking up into the tank, with Eli and Grace inside.

Packing began in earnest today, with us going through cupboards of toys, books, and bathroom toys to decide what to give away and what to box. Two hours and about 8 packed boxes later it feels like we’re getting the packing show moving. It is still a while until we move (mostly like at the end of August)….but it is also not that long, and packing up a house takes a bit longer while looking after two children. Today they just enjoyed all the toys coming out, and they pottered around with them while we worked through it. Grace kept asking why we’re giving the toys in the donations box away – she doesn’t seem to be entirely convinced that that is the best option.
There are still going to be a lot of packing sessions, and a lot of boxes.
Keren and Eli took this photo on Grace’s birthday, and since then he has decided that selfies are great. He takes his phone (which is off), holds it out in front of him and says, “Cheese!”
Bradley, Jenna, Grace and Eli had lots of fun on the slide
Marna collects her Ethical Co-op veggies here on a Wednesday, and she and Grace have become good friends. She made Grace a potion kit for her birthday – essential oils, water, fragrant herbs, mixing bowls and a notepad. Grace loves to make potions with the kit (like “a potion to poison mosquitoes,” and “a potion to clean things”). Eli and her were having some fun exploring the kit.
Emma decided to teach some dance skills to Grace and Hannah, and when they were done she says, “Okay, you two can come to my house in the holidays and practice.”
And it’s not a birthday without sushi
Our little girl, who was only just a tiny baby a short while ago, is five today.
Grace was up and opening presents at 05h50 today, and then started building her Lego Cinderalla princess carriage (which she got from the USA Drennan’s). She started building around 06h30 and sat, focussed, building until she finished at about 09h00 (with about a 10 minute break for breakfast). She pretty much built it on her own, just asking for help in a few places (and normally figuring it out on her own), and needing some help to find pieces. I was quite amazed and how she sat down and worked through the instructions for such a long spell.
Eli really like her Princess Ariel doll’s singing

Donné was dancing around like a crazy person behind me to get them to smile nicely
Aunty Keren got her the game Zingo
Eli also likes the doll’s swing which is part of the set of furniture that Gogo and Gramps got her
Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful gifts. From pyjamas to potion kits she has been loving everything that she received.

Grace’s birthday is on Sunday, and her birthday party is tomorrow, and earlier in the week she had a birthday celebration at school which Donné and I both went too. Party, party all the way.
