Over the weekend Eli wanted to do some woodwork and decided to make a box. His up-skilling for the session was learning to use a proper wood saw.
We didn’t get all of the sides done before Adam woke up, but he was happy to turn it into a different style of box, one without the last side.
He did really well with the saw, and he’s getting much better with the drill and cordless screwdriver.
Adam really loves his soft toys and looks for them to cuddle when going to bed. He does have a small dog toy that he likes to cuddle, but then he saw this…..
Some work was required to convince him that the monkey wasn’t going home with him.
We’ve all enjoyed reading Dr Seuss’ “Mr Brown can moo,” and now Adam is having his turn and learning some new sounds as he goes along.
Donné was icing her cake when she turned around to find Adam helping himself to a little bit of icing from the beater….
Donné and the children got stuck into cleaning our very dirty car – water and washing is always well loved. For our Captonian friends experiencing the drought along with us, we used greywater.
Adam the super baby (or at least dressed in his Superman pyjamas) set about his morning of work….
Read a book, try the extract some saline from the bag, do some posting…okay, now it’s time for a nap
Grace knitted herself a scarf, which inspired Eli to learn how to knit, so with some training from Donné he is getting the hang of it.
Grace and Eli were able to independently make breakfast for Donné today! By the time I got downstairs they had made a cup of lemon water and a bowl of (sugary) oats for Donné, which was followed by cards and more cards and chocolate bars and more chocolate bars.
The afternoon was a meander through Vergelegen’s gardens.

Getting everyone to look at the camera and smile seemed to be an impossible task today
