Garden chamo

Eli spotted a chameleon in our garden today. Hardly ever see those around, and this is the first time we’ve seen one in our garden

The tiny claws on the ends of its feet feel really weird on your skin at first, but then you get used to them.

Woodwork

Eli has always enjoyed working with his hands, whether it is knitting or woodwork. Donné found a woodworking class for him and he has been absolutely loving it

Happy (and hot!) after the first class

His first project was to make a hanging plant holder which has turned out brilliantly and is a great place to keep our basil safe from the bunnies.

Game ride

Eli has been wanting to do some more riding so we went for a ride through a farm which has zebras, springbok and bontebok. Eli loved being able to be so close to the animals, see the baby springboks and watch the springbok bounce around

Park upgrade

Our little park down the road got an upgrade so we went down after supper and had some fun on the new slide, seesaw and merry-go-round.

Getting that first day photo

It’s just not always that easy

Walks in the nature reserve

We’ve been enjoying some family walks in the nature reserve, heading out early(ish) in the morning and starting the day with some fresh air and beautiful surroundings.

Bookmarks

Grace has embarked on a bookmark making project. Not sure how many books she wants to read at the same time

Bunny tug-o-war

It’s Donné versus Bunson in the war of the coriander….who will win?

Bunsy does love coriander

Your sense of humour

I made one of my silly jokes, so Grace turns to me and says (with a little gleam in her eye), “Dad, your sense of humour is so bad it is a joke.” Ah, she is getting to witty.

A is for Adam

Each day I ask Adam what he wants to do and he chose to work on drawing some patterns today. We did the curly c pattern and after a few attempts he turns to me and says he wants to write a letter. So I demonstrated the cursive a (because they learn cursive first in their Montessori school) and he blew me away

He was so chuffed with himself

Eli worked so hard on his project all about bees and I must admit they are amazing little insects. I have learnt all about how they make honey, how they are able to fly and a million other little things. I love learning alongside my kids.

Over the weekend I have the playroom / classroom a bit of a reorganise. This space is working so well for all of us. So grateful for it
