1000 days of drennan a day
This is the 1000th post on drennan a day. One of the first things I thought about when seeing that the 1000th post was coming up as, “What’s the next big milestone, 10000 posts?”
So 10000 posts….that would be 24 years from now. Grace would be 28, Eli 25, and DonnĂ© and I 59 and 58 respectively. There is a whole lot of life to be lived between now and then, loads of memories to gather, and lots of love to experience.
24 years, that would be a lot of writing, and a whole lot of consistency to write every day. So the next thing I thought was, “How long will we keep writing for?” which isn’t really the right question. I think the right question is, “What would make us stop writing?”
There are two things that I can think of. The one definite reason would be if Grace or Eli asked us to stop. If either of them get to a point where they feel like there is too much of themselves out there, then we’ll stop, or at the very least redirect the focus.
The other reason to stop would be if no one was listening any more. We do write this blog largely for ourselves, but part of the joy is the sharing of it. I am always surprised by how many people actually read the blog and comment on it when they see us, and it definitely helps our friends and family to feel connected to us. I do love the way that it connects us to others.
So, for now, there are more memories to gather and share. Thank you for reading and sharing in our life journey.
