September is ballet concert month, with plenty of rehearsals and the show starting on 24 September and running through to 3 October. Here is what the month looked like when we planned it all out….
Fortunately there were some question marks in the rehearsal schedule which have been resolved and it isn’t quite as intense as it was looking. Now they are practising away, and things seem to be going well, and we’re just making sure Grace gets lots of down time through it all. I’m interested to see how she handles the actual performances.
Grace is in every show as a panda, and in two of the shows as a Rio bird.
Tickets are on sale from Monday

The rest of the panda’s from her ballet class
We’ve been very fortunate to be blessed with a piano – the same piano that I grew up with. It was my granny’s piano, and then my parents, and now it has been passed down to us. I think there will be many more years of good piano use to come.
Grace and Eli like to have a little bit of pizza dough when we make pizza’s, and also like to play with the dough a bit before eating it. Eli made three little balls, stacked them and then asked for arms. I found a suitable stalk and after that he asked for a carrot for the nose.

We had our first swim of the season on Saturday (and have since returned to winter weather)
The water was definitely quite chilly.
It is always fun to join the Bradshaw’s for a party…

Getting in there to sing happy birthday
Pass the parcel…
…with El Mariachi
Fling that parcel paper!
Orbee and the flinging of the Stikeez
Eli, “making potatoes”
He still has his great love of guitars (or in this case a mandolin)
I’m playing “twikle, twinkle, little star” and Eli is singing away
Let’s get muddy peeps – Grace leads the gang off to make some mud
Hey, look at my tummy!
There were some seriously happy kids in our garden today.
Grace was working with Kaley on division in class today, and Kaley sent her off to figure out how many times 9 goes into 81. Grace goes off, works it out, comes back and confidently scratches out 81 and writes 82. “It’s not 81, it is 82 – I counted them.” Kaley wasn’t able to convince her that she may be mistaken, so they went to count again. They go through it together, and get to 81. Grace says, “Oh…I didn’t really want to do it anyway.”
