Donné was busy organising Grace’s shelves and after clearing a spot, turned around to see that it had been occupied…
Gogo sent a little gift for Grace in the post, an apron to keep her clean while baking. When Donné gives it to Grace, she looks and it and says, “It’s the most beautiful apron in the whole of South Africa. I don’t know where Gogo gets these things from, it’s so beautiful.”
Grace is saying “Cheese” and Eli is trying to escape…but Grace has a death grip on his hand
Baking muffins together
….then you face ends up looking like this….
I came into the bathroom after Grace and Eli had gone in to brush their teeth, expecting to brush Eli’s teeth, but it turns out that Grace had been busy.
We were off early yesterday morning, so we didn’t follow our usual slow Saturday morning routine, so this morning as a bit slower and I had a croissant out defrosting and rising. I usually make Grace a croissant on a Saturday, and one of her privileges is that she gets to watch some TV on a Saturday morning (TV is a no every other morning).
Grace looks at me getting the croissant ready and says, “You’ll make me feel like watching some TV, because it will feel like a Saturday.”
There you have it, all you need to make it Saturday is to make one croissant and watch some TV in the morning.
Eli made a wee in the potty today! He’s been getting interested in the toilet, so we’ve been introducing him to the potty a bit, and teaching him some signs, but we haven’t started anything in earnest yet. When we woke up this morning I put him on the potty, and he surprised me with a wee in the potty – which he was very chuffed about (and got lots of praise for). He also managed to get part of one in later in the day, so well done to Eli.
When we start more serious potty training I guess it will go something along the lines of Grace’s potty training (yay blog!).
Playing with mommy’s hair…a nice gentle head massage for you madam?
Eli loves copying Grace, and so if you jump, I’ll jump (or at least try)…
We were very blessed to have a fun evening with our friends Stéfan and Lauren. Good food, great company, laughing and most importantly having our first siphon coffee experience. It was actually quite the show with Steéfan demonstrating the siphon coffee machine, and the rest of us watching intently (we really should have gotten a photo of this). Grace got Lauren to read bedtime stories to her, so she was happy too.
