Grace and Eli had a mini Easter egg hunt when they woke up this morning, and the first thing that everyone in the house ate this morning was a chocolate egg.
Enjoying the spoils of the hunt together, with Grace getting ready for the next mouthful
Donné has been doing some activities with Grace and Eli in the build up to Easter
Grace made Easter egg holders by gluing tissue paper onto egg boxes, then stuffing the sections with tissue paper and Easter eggs, and gluing a ribbon on for a handle
Finger painting Easter eggs
Eli was supposed to be finger painting with Grace, but his plan was to put his fingers into the paint, then wash it off, rinse and repeat. So he just ended up playing with one of his favourite toys – water.
Donné, Grace and Eli baked a delicious cake for us to share for afternoon tea on a relaxing Good Friday
Eli was having fun playing with the little cars and ramp he got for Christmas
He is in underwear because we’re in the process of potty training. Still very low key, but he is going well. He is definitely aware of when he has done something and let’s us know (with shouting and pointing), now he needs to learn to get there before he has done anything. We have consistently been getting morning wees in the potty and he even made a little poo in the potty today. He is definitely getting the idea.
Donné helped Grace to make some little bunny baskets for Easter today.
Concentrate while gluing it together
Cut out the embellishments
Glue on the bits
Add bunnies (because adding bunnies is always going to be fun)
It is final, we’re moving to Somerset West. I went to observe in the pre-primary and primary classes at Newberry Montessori today, and Grace’s application form is in.
We’re very excited about the move. The school seems to be great, and there are currently a number of business opportunities in Somerset West. It really does seem like the right option.
We’ve been house hunting now for a few weeks, and we’ll be moving as soon as we can find a place that works for us. There is still lots to do to get that sorted out, but we’re working on it.
Exciting times ahead. I think the move is going to be good for our family, and I look forward to seeing how we settle in to a new house, a new school, and a new routine.
We were pulling out of the driveway and Grace says, “I need to find 37 dings.” I ask her, “What 37 things do you need to find Grace?”
So she says, “Dad…not things, dings….do you need to have your ‘earing tested?” It made me think of Lethal Weapon and questioning Uncle Benny.
Catelin’s granny made her this beautiful Cinderella carriage cake
The birthday girl
With the weather being crazy hot for this time of the year, the princess party became a pool party (with lots of happy children)
And an awesome princess jumping castle with a slide
Eli pretty much spent the whole party grazing at the sweet table
Grace and Eli were just having some fun playing in the boxes, closing themselves in, jumping up and just being in the boxes
Where has Grace gone?
