Eli normally wakes up around 06h00, and then has his morning sleep starting sometime between 08h30 and 09h00. Today was Grace’s school’s gradation ceremony and end year function, which started at 09h00, leaving a bit of a sleep predicament. And we both had to be there to see Grace’s ballet “recital” (more to come on that point).
Eli, being the soldier that he is, missioned through the morning without any hassles at all. There were people, animals and a swing, so he was good to keep going. Eventually it was time for us to go, partly because he was falling asleep on the swing.
It always feels like a bit of an event when one of our children falls asleep in the car, and fall asleep he did. He was out cold by the time we got home and even endured a nappy change without any sleep disturbance.
Stone cold on the changing mat
I didn’t quite make it home
Truffle making while trying to filter out Grace playing on the keyboard and singing (trying to sing) the national anthem, as well as a baby boy moaning and wanting to be picked up. Ear defenders for the win.

Eli loves to sneak up and hug anyone who happens to be bending over

Grace is fortunately a very loving sister, so when her brother sidles up to her chair, starts to moan at her a little bit and reaches up for her yoghurt, she decides that it is time to share.
There is an advert for a Princess Sofia app in one of Grace’s princess magazines, and she is very keen to get the game…but it is only available for the iPad and iPhone (which we don’t have). Gogo has an iPad, so I said to her that she can ask Gogo if she can get it from the app store when we see her in December. A bit later Grace says, “I’m going to ask Gogo if we can go to the app store together and buy the Sofia game.”
Eli, very chuffed with himself for climbing up Grace’s chair, reaching over a gap and managing to get himself onto the table to get hold of some puzzle pieces
Our beautiful daughter, who is kind, loving, defiant, crazy, loves jumping on the trampoline, loves her brother, pushes her brother off chairs, gives us warm fuzzies, drives us crazy, loves her friends, and is just a special bundle of awesome.
Yes, it is super early, but oh well, the joy that it brings is wonderful.
Let’s put this thing together!
All built up and ready to decorate
We put the lights onto the tree last night, and this morning Grace was up and decorating. She put all the ornaments onto the tree…just heavily weighted to the parts she could reach.

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree
I’m the wicked witch who has stolen her brother and flown off on the broomstick, and she is trying to turn me into a statue….
Grace wrote a picture story at school today, and here it is, “Gracie’s loop” the picture book, drawn and narrated by Grace, with writing by Pauline. We really love the last picture.
